It was an eventful Saturday for the FC Gütersloh youth department. The B1 juniors completed the qualifying round with a 12-0 win and the D1 won three points in the district league. On the other hand, the A-Juniors and the C1 had to accept setbacks. There are positive things to report from the D2 and F1.
Table leader Victoria Clarholz was a size too big for the A-Juniors. At halftime it was already 0:6. In the end, the team lost 1:8, but is currently in seventh place in the district league with ten points. FCG is three points ahead of the relegation places.
The B1 juniors had their district league A ticket in their pockets before the game. The team won 12-0 against Aramäer Gütersloh, but “the result was deceptive,” as coach Carlos da Silva later stated. The coach noticed shortcomings in the game and was not satisfied with the evaluation of the chances. Against the deep-lying Arameans, players from the second row also had a chance and did a good job.
The C1 juniors couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against the eighth-placed Beckum game association. The FCG drew level with league leaders SV Heide Paderborn on points, but the leaders still have a game in hand.
The D1 juniors landed a deserved 3-1 win against SV Heide Paderborn. “It was 2-0 at halftime, but we should have been leading 3-0 or 4-0,” reported coach Tarik Kaplan, who was very satisfied with his team’s performance. After the break, things suddenly became tight when Paderborn reduced the score to 1:2. A penalty to make it 3-1 for FCG ultimately ensured a preliminary decision. Shortly before the end, the Gütersloh team got a second penalty, but it was missed. The D1 is currently in fifth place in the district league table.
The D2 juniors also took fifth place in the final qualifying round. The FCG won the last game at Grün-Weiß Varensell 4-1. Coach Jarek Rutkowski reports: “We definitely wanted to continue our good offensive run from the last few games. The team was in a very good mood right from the start and implemented all the tactical instructions such as pressing and flat passes very well. That’s why we took the lead early (2nd) after a very good move forward. Everyone in the audience could see that the pressing was worth it in the 15th minute, when the opposing goalkeeper made a bad pass after intense pressure from us and we were able to finish on an empty goal. Even conceding a 2-1 goal before half-time didn’t change the way we played. After a few substitutions, we increased the pace again and scored two more impressive goals. Both the offense and defense played a great game, which the parents also really liked, so they couldn’t miss a La-Ola together after the game. We look forward to the further challenges that our team will face in the next league.”
At the Germania Westerwiehe games festival, the F1 juniors confirmed the positive trend of the last few weeks, especially in the combat area. Coach Christoph Plutta received high praise for this: “Thanks to the good and increasingly ambitious development of the boys, we now have more players who have made the jump to Team A and, on the other hand, players who have become top performers in Team B “have developed. It’s really fun to watch the boys develop.” The results: FCG team A – Viktoria Rietberg 4:0, FCG team A – Germ. Westerwiehe E2 2:0; FCG Team A – Germ. Westerwiehe F1 1:1. FCG Team B – Viktoria Rietberg 0:2, FCG Team B – Germ. Westerwiehe E2 1:3, FCG team B – Germ. Westerwiehe F1 5:1.
