Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Ministry of Transport confirmed that the Task Force (Satgas) is still reviewing plans to reduce the prices of airline tickets comprehensively. This study was conducted to ensure fair policies that continue to benefit the public and aviation industry players.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, Elba Damhuri, said that the task force was made up of Ministries and Institutions that had previously been confirmed. That is the Coordinating Ministry of the Economy, the Coordinating Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of BUMN and the Ministry of Finance.
“The task force will continue to review plans to reduce airline ticket prices. “It is hoped that this study will produce recommendations and recommendations for measures that need to be taken,” he said, quoted from the RRI page, on Saturday (16/11/24).
At this time, he revealed that his party is still waiting for the results of the policy recommendations for affordable airline tickets. The Ministry of Transport has provided several inputs for consideration to make air ticket rates accessible to the public.
“If the recommendation has been given, the Ministry of Transport will give the information to the public in a transparent way. Also regarding when the price of the tickets can be reduced,” he said.
In addition, he also confirmed that his staff is trying to stabilize the prices of airline tickets in Indonesia. One way is by having intensive discussions with the airline.
“Airlines are expected to make efficiency and innovation efforts to manage air ticket prices more affordable. “Airline tickets paid by the public include the components of the distance fare, tax, mandatory insurance contributions, as well as lift costs,” he explained.
He also said that various parties across sectors need to be involved to reduce the prices of plane tickets. Remembering that ticket prices do not include the Ministry of Transport only.
