/ world today news/ In ABV, we have many criticisms of our coalition partners. We believe that there is a mechanism in this agreement that the most important topics should be consulted with us.
He stated this in an interview for “Labour” the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivaylo Kalfin.
Unfortunately, on the most important topics, GERB does not consider it necessary to hear our opinion. I include here the ratification of the agreement on the 16 billion and the decision on pension funds (which allowed people born after 1959 to transfer their money from private funds to NOI – b.r.) that was introduced in December by deputies from GERB, I also include the removal of the tax credit from the minimum wage, which contradicts the coalition agreement. The most recent case is with the proposal for Minister of the Interior. On most of these issues we can find common ground, but we are not looking for it. There are no active and adequate consultations not only with ABV, but also with the other participants in the coalition, Kalfin added. The consultations I am talking about are the questions to be considered in their essence. To discuss their content. There were no such conversations on the subjects I mentioned, Kalfin noted.
He added that ABV wants at least not to be surprised by such decisions. “We expect there to be a discussion before the introduction of a bill. I suggest that on important bills the ministers meet with the parliamentary groups in advance, to listen to the questions that the deputies have. They might also hear some good advice,” said Kalfin.
The resignation of Minister Goranov was requested by the chairman of the party Georgi Parvanov. But we don’t have a formal solution for this. However, Goranov really annoyed a lot of my colleagues with the way he submitted the proposal for the loan of 16 billion. BGN, Kalfin said.
Regarding Borisov’s decision to propose Rumyana Bachvarova as interior minister, Kalfin’s opinion is that there should have been consultations before Bachvarova was proposed. “It is unlikely that anyone will oppose this candidacy, but it would be good before announcing it, for the prime minister to at least pick up the phone to the party leaders and tell them – I plan to propose someone. That is the problem. Otherwise, I think that Ms. Bachvarova would be a good minister of the interior, although there is always a risk when a “civilian” takes over a force department,” Kalfin specified.
He emphasized that there may be upheavals in the coalition before the local elections. “If someone continues to surprise their partners in a similar way as in the case of the debt vote, I cannot guarantee that it will not ‘break the pitcher,'” Kalfin said.
On the pension reform, Kalfin said that he is not ready because last week they received new proposals from the employers’ organizations. “On all topics, we have had the most detailed discussions with the representatives of trade unions, employers, and interested organizations. Now we must start assembling concrete packages of various elements of the pension reform and seek agreement. The purpose of the changes in the pension system is for pension funds to depend much less than the budget. At the moment the subsidy is over 50%. And of course in the future there should be long-term measures, such as age and seniority for retirement, capital funds and reconciliation with the solidarity system. For me, the main point of reference will be how effective the measures are, i.e. for 10-15 years, the pension system and NOI will be independent from the budget,” he said more Kalfin.
