The most anticipated album of the year is now available. The iconic band Linkin Park has launched “From Zero”his first job in seven years since “One More Light” (2017). This new work represents a new stage in the history of the American band with the incorporation of the singer Emily Armstrong and the drummer Colin Brittain.
After the painful loss of Chester Bennington in 2017no one would have imagined the band’s return, much less with a female vocalist at the helm. However, his return has been a real breath of fresh air for his followers. For now, they have released a new album that, as expected, includes a world tour in which, unfortunately, Spain does not appear as a destination.
Linkin Park presented the single two days ago “Two Faced”the fourth on the album after “Over Each Other”played entirely by Emily, “Heavy Is the Crown”chosen as the official anthem of the video game championship “League of Legends” and the band’s first collaboration with Riot Gamesy “The Emptiness Machine”the first single with the new line-up that has become a global hit with about 400 million views all over the world.
The LP begins with an introduction before “The Emptiness Machine”the first advance single. This song places us in the context of the sounds, textures and lyrics that we will discover throughout the album. Rhythmic verses that lead to explosive choruses, surrounded by walls of distorted guitars. Very Linkin Park style.
“Cut the Bridge” comes close to the essence of “Minutes to Midnight”while “Heavy is the Crown” takes us to the core of “Meteor”. It is necessary to pause on this journey. The path traced by this album is full of references to Chester, but it is in the breakdown of this last song where the emotion is felt most intensely. Emily’s scream is impressive, extending up to 16 seconds, touching the 17 that Chester reached in “Given Up”.
In the rest of the album, it is a constant apology for the love and passion for music. Taking care of the details to the millimeter we can hear the respect towards Chester. The new album is going to amaze the world and there is no doubt that they will fill all the stadiums wherever they go. Fans are in luck because Linkin Park is finally back.
