Two players from Olympiakos (Larentzakis, Mitrou-Long), one from Panathinaikos (Moraitis) and two others who competed in the Olympic Games (Toliopoulos, Hougaz) are included in Vassilis Spanoulis’ invitation for the Men’s National Team match against Great Britain, in London on November 22 for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.
Among the 16 players called up are rookies Antonis Karagiannidis of Prometheus, Stelios Poulianitis of Peristeri, Yiannis Karakostas of Amarousi, as well as the young Neoklis Avdala of Peristeri. The invitation also includes Lountzis, Mouratos, Netzipoglou, MAnjoukas, Kouseloglou, Tanoulis, Zougris.
The match coincides with the 10th matchday of the Euroleague. For the next match against the same opponent, on Sunday, November 25 at PAOK’s stadium in Thessaloniki, the rest of the Panathinaikos and Olympiakos internationals are counted as well.
Last February, our National Team won its first two matches, against the Czech Republic (home) and the Netherlands (away).
The finals of EuroBasket 2025 will be held next September in Riga, Latvia, while our national team – if it qualifies – will play the matches of the first round against the Limassol Club.
