Ex-“heute show” comedian Christine Prayon talks about corona vaccine damage

When Christine Prayon announced her departure from the “heute show” in the summer of 2023, she made serious allegations. Today she is suffering from corona vaccine damage.

Eckart von Hirschhausen sheds light on the consequences of the corona pandemic in a new documentary for ARD. The film “Hirschhausen and the Long Shadow of Corona” will be broadcast on Erste next Monday. It is the latest documentary in what is now a seven-part series. The doctor, known from television, visits people who suffer from Long Covid, investigates myths about vaccine damage and also questions himself.

“It was wrong to promise a vaccination that was completely free of side effects,” admits Hirschhausen. Nevertheless, he still believes vaccinations are the right thing to do and is convinced that the right actions were taken during the pandemic. “The corona vaccines have primarily protected older people over 60 and those with previous illnesses from severe disease or death. That is a fact.”

In addition to visiting Long Covid patients, it is apparently just as important to the TV doctor to show the other side of the coin. And for this he meets the former “heute show” comedian Christine Prayon in the film. She announced her departure from the ZDF program in the summer of 2023 and made serious allegations: a “mood against people who think differently” was spread there, she said, among other things. Now Eckart von Hirschhausen moderates the meeting with the 50-year-old with the words: “The vaccination made Christine Prayon sick.” She suffers from muscle weakness, tremors, heart pain, dizziness, circulatory problems and extreme exhaustion. “I had the first symptoms nine days after the first vaccination, with my heart. I was perfectly healthy before,” Prayon reports in an interview and says that she now has to deal with a “sick body”.

Doctors around her “couldn’t classify” Prayon’s condition, explains the cabaret artist in an interview with Eckart von Hirschhausen. In fact, post-vac syndrome is still little researched. The term is used as a collective term for persistent health impairments as a result of a Covid-19 vaccination. The symptoms are similar to those of Long Covid. Read more about this here.

As the SWR reports, there is now initial data that shows a difference: According to this, the risk of developing post-vac syndrome after a corona vaccination is significantly lower than the risk of developing long-term illness after a corona disease. getting Covid.

This doesn’t help those affected. “Whenever I have the impression that I’m feeling better, I can set the alarm so that I experience an absolute crash,” says Prayon in the ARD film. However, the cabaret artist has not lost hope for improvement. Above all, her family serves as motivation for her to persevere: “A child always means that I can’t give up hope.”
