The night of this November 15th began a new edition of the Corona Capital and it was Green Day the band in charge of closing the Friday night. It was the most anticipated act of the night and quickly, the group demonstrated its great connection with its Mexican audience.
As the songs went on, the thousands and thousands of attendees at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez chanted them non-stop. But less than an hour after starting, it arrived the most emotional and exciting moment of the show.
Green Day invites fans to sing with them
After several successes, the singer Billie Joe Armstrong He stopped the music for a few moments to address the audience, among whom was a fan who, apparently, was not feeling well at all.
“Are you okay? Stop, stop, don’t get hurt,” said the vocalist, who, seeing that people weren’t paying attention, invited her to go on stage.
“Come, give me a hug,” he said as this lucky woman came up on stage to give him a big hug with tears in her eyes.
As if that were not enough, another even more exciting moment came when Billie invited another woman on stage to sing alongside him. Once on stage, the musician gave her the power of the microphone so she could finish the song.
Seeing her so excited, Billy joked: “give me my microphone now.”which caused everyone to laugh.
Finally, the band said goodbye to her with applause and asked the audience to chant her name, “Linda.”
For this weekend, the parade of long-awaited musical acts is expected on the stage of the Chilango festival such as New Order, Paul McCartney, Iggy Pop, Kim Gordon y St. Vincent.
