Mexico City. The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) was linked to the process against Armando Gómez Núñez, Delta 1leader of the group of self-proclaimed hitmen The Deltasof the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), for which he will be tried for his alleged responsibility in the commission of crimes against health, carrying a firearm, possession of magazines and cartridges for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The Delta 1 was arrested by elements of the National Guard on October 28, in the Residencial Lagos del Country neighborhood, in Zapopan, Jalisco, after an anonymous complaint that reported “about possible illicit conduct committed by the now linked person, when he was traveling aboard a car in which he traveled through various areas of that entity.”
The guards tracked the vehicle, intercepted it and upon inspection it was discovered that it was carrying a long gun supplied with 10 cartridges, plastic bags containing a kilo of methamphetamine and three magazines with a total of 49 useful cartridges.
In the initial hearing, the Public Ministry of the Federation (MPF) provided sufficient evidence for the District Judge Specialized in the Accusatory Criminal System in the State of Mexico, based in Almoloya de Juárez, to decree connection to the process in against him and dictate justified preventive detention in the Federal Center for Social Rehabilitation number 1, Altiplano.
