Philips MediaSuite TVs take hotel room entertainment to the next level in Sweden’s ‘fantastic’ new hotel

PPDS, the exclusive global supplier of Philips professional displays, is pleased to announce that its industry-leading range of Google Cast™ and Netflix compatible displays Philips MediaSuite TVs was selected and installed in the 457 rooms of the brand new “fancy” family retreat, the Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel in Gothenburg.

Situated on the grounds of the award-winning Liseberg Park theme park, the 29,000 square meter, nine-story, star-shaped Grand Curiosa Hotel is a true vacation setting like no other, with oddities and remarkable objects await them at every turn, offering the perfect blend of fantasy, innovation and opulence.

Prior to its grand opening, Grand Curiosa’s owners sought an intuitive, imaginative and scalable television solution to deliver unparalleled entertainment choice – including seamless access to current and future streaming services – as well as a variety of interactive opportunities and communication – to the 457 rooms.

By teaming up with Speeron, one of the leading PPDS partners in the Nordic hospitality sector, Philips MediaSuite, the world’s first and only hospitality TV available and compatible with Google Cast™ and Netflix, was quickly identified as the ideal choice to achieve your ambitions.

Powered by the Speeron NEXT TV platform and fully integrated with the Grand Curiosa’s existing PMS, 457 custom 50-inch Philips MediaSuite TVs were installed, extending capabilities far beyond those of a traditional hotel TV for an enhanced stay.

NEXT Level Experiences

In addition to a wide selection of local and international TV channels and catch-up services, integrated Google Cast™ technology allows guests at Grand Curiosa Hotel to enjoy the same TV experiences as at home. With just the press of a button, customers can effortlessly access and stream all of their favorite content from their favorite accounts (including DAZN, Disney+, Prime, YouTube™ and more) directly to the TV using their own personal connected device, regardless of operating system.

The integrated design ensures that no additional cables or hardware are required, eliminating the risk of costly tampering or theft of security keys encountered with other solutions currently available on the market. All guest data, such as login credentials, is automatically cleared at checkout, putting guests at ease while saving hotel staff considerable time spent manually deleting.

Powered by Android, Philips MediaSuite offers something for the whole family, with instant access to the Google Play Store, bringing a host of apps, games and entertainment, which can be controlled via the TV remote or using a device smart connected.

A personal touch

With visitors from all over the world, guests can immediately select their preferred language to browse on their TV, with a range of interactive services also available directly from the comfort of their room via the personalized TV interface.

The hotel’s IT team can also effortlessly personalize Philips MediaSuite screens with fun and seasonal content, as well as provide regular communications updates, ranging from marketing and internal promotions (park information, details on restaurant, etc.), to more personalized messages for individual customers, such as those celebrating special occasions.
