HAMMELBURG – OT MORLESAU, LKR. BAD KISSINGEN – A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning in a small hamlet near Hammelburg. An 81-year-old man reported via the police emergency call that he was seriously injured and that he had found his 76-year-old partner lifeless in her bed.
A patrol of the police Hammelburg rushed to the crime scene, where the woman was only found dead. The man had serious stab wounds to his upper body and was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
The emergency call reached the Lower Franconian police operations center around 9:00 a.m. The caller reported that he had seriously injured himself and that his partner was lying dead in the bedroom. While the operations center gathered further information, a patrol went to the crime scene in Morlesau.
The information was confirmed on site. The woman was lifeless and the emergency doctor could only determine her death. The partner, who had apparently suffered several stab wounds himself, was first given medical care and then taken to hospital. According to initial investigations, it is assumed that the senior citizen caused the injuries himself.
The exact circumstances of the incident and the question of whether the 81-year-old is responsible for the death of his partner are currently unclear. The criminal police Schweinfurt has taken over the further investigations and is in close coordination with the Schweinfurt public prosecutor’s office.
