Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard will miss the next Norwegian Nations League as he continues his recovery after two months out with injury.
Odegaard returned from an ankle injury last week and came off the bench against Inter Milan in the Champions League and played the whole game in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw in the English Premier League.
The Norwegian Football Association said on Tuesday that the midfielder had joined Norway and passed a medical before the matches against Slovenia and Kazakhstan.

The NFF said Odegaard’s body is “not 100%” after the complex injury.
“After extensive investigations and discussions, we have reached an agreement that Martin is not fit to play against Slovenia and Kazakhstan,” said team doctor Ola Sand. “After consulting with him, we agreed that it would be best for him to return to London to continue his rehabilitation there.
Odegaard said he had to “listen to my body.”
“The hope was always to be able to play at international level and if I hadn’t played a league game on Sunday it wouldn’t have been possible,” said Odegaard. “It’s a really bad feeling to miss those games. “I love playing in Norway and with this team.”
Odegaard injured his ankle while playing for Norway in September and has been largely forgotten by Arsenal, who have won just two of their last seven games in all competitions.
