Ruud van Nistelrooy Eyes Coventry City Coaching Role After Manchester United Departure

Just a few days after his departure from Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy has applied for a vacant position at Coventry City, to revive his coaching role again.

Nistelrooy previously worked as an assistant to Eric Ten Hag with the Red Devils, and moved to the role of first man for a time before the arrival of the Portuguese Ruben Amorim, the Dutchman decided to leave the club because he did not want to be working with the first Lisbon sports coach.

English network “Talk Sport” reported that Nestelrooy, who has coaching experience with PSV Eindhoven, wants to return to the picture as soon as possible after spending a short time in Manchester, and wants to succeed with coach Mark Robins in Coventry, amid strong competition from Chelsea and Derby County coach Frank Lampard.

This coincides with what the owner of the club Doug King said this week, when he said: “We received a large number of CVs from high-quality people, and Frank is one of them. We haven’t decided anything yet, but we will assess the situation during the international break.”

Nistelrooy is aiming to get the job as Lampard’s replacement, especially after the praises Manchester have given him in his temporary spell as first-choice after Ten Hag’s departure.
