Mexico City. After the Secretary of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, delivered the 2025 Economic Package to the Chamber of Deputies, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) indicated that “the budget project was built based on the configuration current organizational structure of the Court and with the operational needs, considering that it will be subject, where appropriate, to regulatory and secondary legislation, which may eventually imply adjustments during the course of the next fiscal year.
In the project presented to the legislators, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) kept intact the budget project approved by the Plenary Court last October, of 5 thousand 922 million 911 pesos.
According to the highest court, this amount was established “based on a rigorous planning, programming and budgeting exercise” identifying “the essential resources to meet the human, material and financial requirements that allow it to fulfill its responsibilities, rigorously adhering to the parameters of rationality, austerity, effectiveness and cost containment that have been applied since fiscal year 2023.”
He explained that of the requested budget, “8 out of every 10 pesos will be allocated to the area of personal services, since human capital is the key factor to contribute to the fulfillment of the institutional objective which is the delivery of justice and, therefore, of the total Of the 3,805 current positions, two thirds correspond to public servants who perform directly in jurisdictional work and support the jurisdictional function.”
According to the Court, the 4,813.2 million pesos requested for personal services – which is equivalent to a decrease of 4.1 percent, in real terms, compared to what was authorized for the current year – will cover the remunerations and benefits provided for in the General Working Conditions in force, to guarantee respect for the labor rights of the public servants of this High Court – as provided in the Tenth transitory article of the reform of the Judiciary.”
In addition, he points out, the remunerations of ministers, as well as command public servants, were adjusted downwards to comply with the provisions of the seventh transitional article of this reform.
