Kuala Lumpur: The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, said that Israel will not recognize the country and will continue to support the Palestinian people. He was speaking at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Peru. He also rejected reports that Malaysia would make efforts to improve relations with Israel. Later, he reiterated his position in an interview with US media.

He said that for the sake of justice, there will be no change in relations with Israel. Israel is a member of the UN. Many are recognized as a nation. However, the Prime Minister of Malaysia said that they refuse to recognize Israel as an official country.

He also said Malaysia was the only country to discuss Israel’s attacks on Palestine at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting. How can we talk about free trade when a nation’s rights are denied. He said the Palestinian people will receive support wherever they need it.
