Green Day, the iconic punk rock band returns to Mexico to perform at the Corona Capital 2024 festival, scheduled for Friday, November 15. The band, made up of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, will headline the event alongside Jack White, Toto, Paul McCartney and more.

Green Day’s relationship with Mexico has been significant throughout their career, with multiple performances that have left their mark on the hearts of their fans. One of the most memorable moments, without a doubt, was their “American Idiot” tour in 2004, when they made history at the Palacio de los Deportes in CDMX.

After that iconic concert, 13 years passed before Americans returned to Mexico. It was in 2017 when the band returned to the country with its “Revolution Radio Tour”, performing at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez during the Corona Capital of that year.

Their presentation for 2024 is expected to be unique, so their Mexican fans are eagerly awaiting the show that the band led by Billie Joe Armstrong prepared. Their concert will last approximately two hours and they will be on the main stage under the name “Corona”. The show will start at 11:30 p.m. on Friday and will end at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Originally from Berkeley, California, the trio emerged on the music scene with a sound that revitalized the genre in the ’90s. Their 1994 album “Dookie” was a critical and commercial success, catapulting them to international fame. With hits like “Basket Case” and “When I Come Around,” Green Day established themselves as an influential force in rock. Throughout their career, the band has been able to reinvent themselves, exploring new musical horizons on albums such as “American Idiot” (2004) and “21st Century Breakdown” (2009), where they address sociopolitical issues with incisive lyrics.
