Johannesburg: Malayali batsman Sanju Samson, who was out for zero in two consecutive matches, returned with a century.
In the fourth match of the Twenty20 cricket series against South Africa, Sanju Samson (109 not out with nine sixes and six fours off 56 balls) and Thilak Verma (120 not out -out with 10 sixes and nine fours off 47 balls) glittering with centuries. Batting first, India scored 283 runs for one wicket.
This is Tilak Verma’s second consecutive century. This is Sanju’s twenty-third century. An unbeaten partnership of 210 runs off 86 balls. Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bat first. Sanju and Abhishek Sharma (36 including four sixes and two fours in 18 balls) who opened the innings proved Suriya’s resolve on a batting friendly pitch. Abhishek was dismissed by Luto Sipamla but there was no stopping India’s fireworks. The second wicket partnership crossed 50 runs in 23 balls and a hundred in 40 balls. They reached 200 in 82 balls. Sanju scored a century in 51 balls and Thilak in 41 balls.
