The suspect in these two cases was arrested on Tuesday night at Toulon station (Var) after the attack on a young woman on board a train traveling in the south of France. He revealed himself when he was arrested as a 32-year-old Cameroonian subject to the obligation to leave French territory (OQTF).

In addition to the murder in Lyon and the attempted murder in Evry, investigators are questioning his role in several attacks carried out with a similar modus operandi in Dijon, Strasbourg and Rotterdam. In Lyon, the body of a homeless man of Moldovan nationality was found on Monday morning near the Perrache station with a large wound on his head and a concrete block next to him. In Evry, a man was punched in the face in front of Evry-Courcouronnes station on October 23 while he was sleeping. Badly injured, the victim was completely unable to work for 45 days. An investigating judge was appointed after this attack and the suspect must be presented to him on Friday.
The public prosecutor’s office requested that Evry be charged with attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention. Public prosecutor Grégoire Dulin told AFP that he was considering all French investigations aimed at bringing him together.
