VITERBO – Too many fluorides in the taps of the Teverina hamlets of Viterbo, those fed by the Pratoleva water network.
As reported in a note from the Municipality, following today’s ASL communication to the municipality of Viterbo and the water service manager Talete, following the Arpa Lazio note regarding the non-compliance of the fluoride parameter at the sampling point fp Strada Teverina – Rete Pratoleva -Fastello-Strada Teverina, the union ordinance was signed.
The provision prohibits the consumption of water for food purposes, supplied via the public aqueduct. The areas affected are: Pratoleva – Fastello – Strada Teverina, or Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce, Roccalvecce, Vallebona locality, Montecalvello, Pratoleva locality, Rocchette locality, Fastello, Teverina road up to Montaciano locality, Ferento locality, Ombrone road, Monterosso locality and Santo Stefano Caves.
In these areas “the use of water must be limited to uses in technological systems and for domestic hygiene”. The note specifies that four tankers will be positioned in Piazza Fastello (Fastello), Piazza del Mercato, near the water house (Grotte Santo Stefano), Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce, near the cemetery, Strada Teverina, near the fountain public.
“The Talete company, as manager of the integrated water service in Ato 1 Viterbo, in compliance with what is specified in the ASL note, will have to adopt, as quickly as possible, the corrective measures necessary to bring the fluoride parameter back within the legal limits, in order to supply water that complies with the quality requirements established by current legislation – concludes the note -. The union ordinance (n. 72 of 11/15/2024) can be consulted on the notice board of the institutional website”. As soon as the values return to normal, the municipality will communicate it immediately.
