Donald Trump propels his lawyers to important positions in the Department of Justice

CONFLICT OF INTEREST – By appointing three of his personal lawyers to Justice on Friday, President-elect Donald Trump is raising a new wave of criticism in the United States

After having designated the very controversial Matt Gaetz to justice, Donald Trump also appointed, on Friday, three of his personal lawyers to key positions in the Department of Justice: Todd Blanche, Emil Bove and John Sauer. Todd Blanche, Brooklyn Law School graduate and former federal prosecutor at Manhattanwas promoted to Deputy Minister of Justice. Donald Trump notably praised his role in “repairing a judicial system that has been broken for too long”.

Emil Bove, also a veteran federal prosecutor and graduate of Georgetown, will fill the number three position, while acting as number two. He will be responsible, according to Donald Trump, for “eradicating corruption and crime”. Finally, John Sauer, a graduate of Harvard and of Oxford, was appointed advocate-general. He had already successfully pleaded for presidential immunity before the Supreme Court and will represent the executive before this body.

Strong criticism from the opposition
