/ world today news/ We, the signatories of this appeal, categorically condemn the illegal occupation of the non-self-governing territory of Western Sahara and state that this conflict must find its solution within the framework of a referendum on self-determination in accordance with international law and the relevant UN resolutions.
Our support for the struggle of the people of Western Sahara is a matter of principle and legitimacy, as international law expressly recognizes the right of this people to self-determination through a free and fair referendum. That is why we express our firm support and our unwavering solidarity in the struggle of the Saharan people to exercise their inalienable rights.
In accordance with the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonized Countries and Peoples, adopted in 1960. of the United Nations General Assembly, we, the signatories of this appeal in support of the struggle of the people of Western Sahara, demand:
• immediate decolonization of Western Sahara by organizing a referendum allowing the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination;
• putting an end to violations of human rights, civil and political rights, disappearances and torture by the occupying forces;
• Ending the illegal exploitation of Western Sahara’s natural resources by occupying forces and foreign companies
