The new season of ‘The Masked Singer’ has started and the first five characters have appeared. Despite all the amazing performances, we had to say goodbye to two characters in the first episode: the Raccoon and the Wolf. But which celebrities were hiding in the suits?
“We have a Countess on the Royal Houses”
The Raccoon is the first character to send the audience home. Immediately after he arrived on stage, the panelists were impressed with his outfit. “What a nice suit. A very tall man,” Carlo Boszhard noticed immediately. It is immediately clear to Loretta Schrijver who is in the suit, as she recognizes her former colleague out of thousands. “This is the Jan de Hoop circuit,” she says.
After the panel unanimously agrees that Jan is in the suit, he reveals his identity much later. He hesitated to participate for a long time, but decided to give it a try and ended up having a lot of fun. “I can’t sing or dance. (…) Very nice, but I’m glad it’s over,” he admits. “It’s good, because next time there will be dance moves.”
Jan was not surprised that Loretta recognized him immediately. “We’ve known each other for 45 years. She’s my sweet sister TV. So I love her. I made a prediction. She’ll hear that within five seconds, but I think she was even faster.”
Not much later it is time for the second revelation and the Wolf has to leave the scene of the battle. When she appeared, several of the panel members were quite sure that Nikkie Plessen would be hidden in the suit, but during her performance they came up with other names. Monica thought she knew this famous person personally, but she couldn’t think of his name. “Who is this? I’m not getting well,” she said in frustration.
After her performance, Monica thought she was sure it would be model Romee Strijd in a Werewolf costume, but it turned out to be Countess Eloise of Orange. “I recognized your voice. I knew I would know you. It’s so strange if you don’t know,” Monica sighs. A member of the panel could not guess her identity, but her participation gave the program a royal touch. “We have the Countess of the Royal Houses.”
Eloise especially enjoyed seeing the amazing faces and really liked her outfit. “I really like this outfit,” she said with a smile on her face.
