The “Health” action game day will take place at the upcoming home game on Sunday (November 24th, 1:30 p.m.) against 1. FC Magdeburg. Organ donation (BZgA educational work)
In Germany, around 8,400 people are waiting for a donor organ. However, there were only 965 postmortem organ donors in 2023. The numbers show how important it is to address the issue. “Organ donation – yes or no?” is the appeal to the population to inform themselves, make a decision for or against organ and tissue donation and document it.
With its open-ended information, the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) supports citizens on this path. As a specialist authority within the scope of the Federal Ministry of Health, its central task is to contribute to health prevention and maintenance through various measures and programs. Find out more from the specialist staff on site, make your decision and document it on an organ donation card with the SSV Jahn Regensburg logo.

Stem cell donation (DKMS educational work)
Every 12 minutes in Germany a person is diagnosed with blood cancer, and worldwide every 27 seconds. Many patients cannot survive without a life-saving stem cell donation and the search for a suitable donor often begins a race against time.
Some patients find their genetic twin. But many other patients are still waiting for a suitable stem cell donor and the chance to continue living. The faster a “match” is found, the greater the patient’s chances of survival.
Register here as a potential stem cell donor. In principle, any healthy person who is between 17 and 55 years old and is not already registered with the DKMS or another file can become a stem cell donor. Together against blood cancer. Open your mouth. Chopsticks in. be a donor.

Gambling & sports betting addiction (awareness work by Caritas & fan project)
In cooperation with the Regensburg fan project (Kontakt Regensburg eV), the Caritas specialist outpatient clinic for addiction problems in Regensburg is organizing the second prevention match day this year. The focus is on the topic of gambling addiction and sports betting. Online gambling and sports betting have been legal since 2021 and are being heavily advertised – the number of those affected is increasing. Addiction therapist Karolina Zahnweh and the Affected Persons Advisory Board, Stimme der Spiele eV, provide information about risks with various campaigns and giveaways, provide information and are available for discussions.

Depression (awareness work of the Robert Enke Foundation)
The Robert Enke Foundation (RES) supports projects and institutions for education, research and treatment of depression and childhood heart disease. The death of Robert Enke on November 10, 2009 caused deep consternation in all parts of the population. The illness “depression” was brought into the public eye by his tragic death and showed how many people are limited by this mental illness in everyday life.
With targeted educational measures, the RES wants to ensure that those affected can talk openly about their illness without experiencing stigmatization. The “RES on Tour” project relies on public presence by drawing attention to the topic on match days in football stadiums in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd leagues as well as in ice hockey and handball. The foundation also spreads its message at events outside of sports and raises awareness in society that depression is not a weakness, but a serious illness.
