Dimitris Itoudis will continue his career in Hapoel Tel Aviv, with a mammoth contract. The former coach of the National team had stayed away from the benches for the last year after his “divorce” with the Hellenic Basketball Federation.
According to reports in Israel, his earnings from Hapoel will reach 4.6 million euros, for 2.5 years of cooperation, until the summer of 2027. The current coach of the Israeli team, Stefanos Dedas, will remain as his assistant Here. Xapoel competes in the Eurocup, with temporary headquarters in Bulgaria.
The 54-year-old Itoudis, who these days is in Athens, has won 2 Euroleague titles as the first coach of CSKA Moscow (2016, 2019), while for a number of years he was a direct partner of Zeliko Obradovic at Panathinaikos. He coached the Greek National Team at EuroBasket 2022 and at the World Cup 2023.
