On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the “Young Doctors” Association organized two significant initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and prevention of diabetes.
During the day, over 200 people received free medical consultations, healthy lifestyle advice and measurements of key health indicators.
In partnership with the Municipality of Burgas, the Regional Health Inspectorate, the Student Council of the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”, ASMB-Burgas, BMCHK-Burgas, Novonordisk and the Union of Paramedics, the campaign attracted many participants. Visitors to a large shopping center in Burgas had the opportunity to measure their blood sugar and body mass index, consult with specialists and receive useful materials for diabetes prevention.
At the same time, in the village of Atia, the “Young Doctors” Association implemented an initiative aimed at the elderly. With the support of the “Dr. Ivanovi” Eye Clinic and qualified paramedics, the residents of the village had the opportunity to be examined by cardiologists, ophthalmologists, radiologists and pulmonologists.
The use of modern medical equipment ensured the high quality of examinations, which exceeded 70.
Organized campaigns have shown that when health awareness is combined with access to qualified help, the results can be extremely significant. World Diabetes Day is not only an occasion for information, but also for action – small efforts such as measuring blood sugar, regular check-ups or lifestyle changes can make a huge difference to everyone’s health.
The events held by the “Young Doctors” reinforced the importance of prevention and care for public health, giving participants not only knowledge, but also concrete steps towards a healthier life.
