How a Christmas Road Trip Movie Will Inspire a ‘Preview’

Masey McLain and Taylor Kalupa, the writers behind A CHRISTMAS LESS TRAVELED, not only hope audiences will be entertained by the road trip film, but they also hope it inspires a “breakthrough” in their lives.
“A CHRISTMAS LESS TRAVELED follows Desi, who is the best person on the planet. “She loves her people,” McLain said to Pure Flix Insider, who starred in I AM NOT ASHAMED. “She owns this lovely restaurant and gives and gives and gives to everyone around her. But he has closed his heart a bit and is still dealing with the loss of his father until one day he finds a cassette tape hidden in his truck…”
McLain recalled a piece of advice her father passed on to her that has stayed with her and relates to the theme of the film.
“I will never forget, my dad once told me in a really difficult season of [la vida]’You can close your heart, but you’re going to miss the best parts of life,’” remembered.
McLain continued. saying“And that really stuck with me. And I think a lot of us do that. [cuando] They hurt us. But the consequences of closing ourselves off is that you miss out on the best parts of life. So we wanted to explore what it would be like to be free of that.”
Speaking of the wisdom of older generations, Kalupa said another theme of the film is how the “younger generation doesn’t really ask their parents or grandparents many questions.”
“[R]We really wanted to explore this space where all the lessons and all the experiences that someone had that they couldn’t share, are told to their child later and how that affects them and how [los padres] They wish they had done it when they had the chance.
