The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to rack up wins during their historic winning streak. We’ll all be watching on Friday night as the Cavaliers look to get off to a 14-0 start when they host the Chicago Bulls.
Second-ranked Alabama has a big test on the college basketball court, as it will visit a Purdue team that has won 20 straight home games. The 13th-ranked Boilermakers will look to win this matchup from the 3-point line.
Just 12 months ago, the Washington Football Team was losing ground to its opponents. Well, Kalen DeBoer left to coach Alabama and now the Huskies are a mediocre team in their first season in the Big Ten as they face off at home against UCLA.
Let’s take a look at those undefeated Cavaliers as they battle it out in the Alabama-Purdue clash for the best basketball game of the night.
Chicago Bulls contra Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers earned a 119-113 road victory over the Bulls on Monday, and the victory was not easy to come by. The score was tied at 106 with five minutes remaining before Evan Mobley’s dunk started a final hot streak. A win on Friday allows Cleveland to match the fourth-longest opening-season winning streak in NBA history.
Chicago had no answers to control Donovan Mitchell, who scored a season-high 36 points, along with eight rebounds, four steals and seven three-point baskets. Mitchell followed with 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in Wednesday’s 114-106 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Zach LaVine was at his best on Monday with 26 points on 12-of-20 shooting and the Bulls need him to be on a roll again in the rematch. Two nights later, LaVine scored a season-high 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting as the Bulls cruised to a 124-123 road victory over the New York Knicks.
That win was just Chicago’s second in the last seven games, but the Bulls appear capable of covering the 10.5-point gap. The Cavaliers have scored fewer than 110 points only once and have allowed 100 or more in every game.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Purdue Boilermakers
These two rivals played a very entertaining game last season, when Purdue won 92-86 in Toronto. Retired center Zach Edey scored 35 points and Braden Smith, still shining, added 27 for the Boilermakers, while Crimson Tide star Mark Sears hit a career-high eight 3-pointers and scored 35 points.
Both clubs are 3-0 and untested, and this battle is considered a high-level test. Smith has been superb early, adding 22 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals in Monday’s 92-84 home win over Yale.
Alabama did not impress at times during Monday’s 72-64 victory over visiting McNeese State . Grant Nelson had a solid game with 22 points and eight rebounds and the Crimson Tide needs that version of him again against Purdue.
The Boilermakers are hitting 43.7 percent of their three-pointers, while Alabama is struggling at 30.1 percent. But if we look at last season’s game, the main takeaway is this: Sears will probably have another big game and lead the Crimson Tide to victory.

UCLA Bruins vs. Washington Huskies
Last season, the Huskies were fun and exciting to watch, as quarterback Michael Penix Jr. led them to the national championship game before losing to new Big Ten teammate Michigan. This season, Washington is 0-4 in Big Ten road games, with three losses by 14 or more points, including last week’s 35-6 loss to then-ranked Penn State. 6.
Huskies quarterback Will Rogers has completed a solid 71.4 percent of his passes and has 13 touchdown passes compared to five interceptions, but he was pulled in the loss to Penn State. He has three interceptions and no touchdown passes in the last three games.
UCLA has won three straight after a dismal 1-5 start. After beating Rutgers and Nebraska on the road, the Bruins posted a 20-17 home win over Iowa last weekend.
Something surprising happened against the Hawkeyes: Leading rusher TJ Harden ran for 125 yards on 20 carries after having a total of 226 in the first eight games. Another effort like that could give UCLA another victory. Either way, this match will be close.
