The Council of Ministers of Belarus approved the schedule of weekends and holidays in 2025. The corresponding decision was signed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko on Friday, November 15. According to the document, the residents of the Republic will have three small holidays of 4 days, but the government decided not to have a week of New Year’s holidays.
According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 839 on November 14, 2024, s published on the National Legal Internet Portal of Belarus, the first long weekend awaits us in January. So, at the beginning of 2025, Belarusians will rest on 1 and 2, but Friday, January 3, will be a working day.
Let’s remember that if the government took a day off, the country’s residents would immediately face a whole week of New Year’s holidays. True, then, most likely, everything had to be worked out. Instead, the Council of Ministers moved from Monday, January 6, to Saturday, January 11. As a result – a small holiday from January 4 to 7.
By the way, Belarusians had a holiday for more than four days in a row in 2019. Then in May, the majority rested for five days in a row – from May 5 to May 9. True, in the same month there were two working Saturdays due to delays.
The next big weekend for Belarusians is in spring: from April 27 to 29. Radunitsa falls on the 29th, which means that instead of Monday, April 28, we will work on Saturday, April 26. Anyway, Wednesday, April 30, will be working again. But Thursday, May 1, is his day off again.
There will also be a big weekend in the summer – from July 3 to 6 in honor of Independence Day. The government decided to move the working day from Friday, July 4th, to Saturday, July 12th. The year will also end with a big weekend. From Friday, December 26th, the working day will be moved to Saturday, December 20th. As a result, we will have a break from December 25 to 28.
