Sabers looking for a big splash

On the latest episode of TSN Insider Trading, NHL insider Darren Dreger revealed that Buffalo Sabers general manager Kevin Adams is ready to make a big move to upgrade the club’s roster.

This is what Dreger had to say:

“Yes, Adams is willing to consider something bigger, but he is not looking to trade one of the NHL’s best young talents.”

Adams is understandably open to a big move right now. Looking at his team, there is no doubt they could do with another proven back six and a strong right back.

Patience

Additionally, Adams understandably doesn’t want to part ways with any of his key NHL players. The Sabers are currently looking to break their 13-year playoff drought, so trading an NHL staple doesn’t make sense for them right now.

The Sabers have a solid group of prospects and draft picks to work with to make a potential impact. It will be interesting to see if they do it from here.
