Another nice comedy from the workshop of producers Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg will soon be released in cinemas: “The Foursome” with Florian David Fitz, Julia Koschitz, Friedrich Mücke and Lucía Barrado in the leading roles. The world premiere has already taken place in Berlin’s Zoo-Palast, and – this much can be revealed – there was laughter and amazement. Laughed at the many little punchlines and was amazed at Florian David Fitz, who allows his colleague Friedrich Mücke to give him a wet French kiss in the film.
That’s what it’s about: Sophie (Julia Koschitz) and Paul (Florian David Fitz) are having a huge crisis and there is a lull in their relationship. Sophie loves her job, but dreams of a new start and great success – she wants to get started again, really.
Paul on the other hand? He prefers to hang out at home and is only passionately in love with one thing: his Thermomix. So it’s inevitable that there will be a clash between a career woman and a kitchen guru.
But both also know that things cannot continue like this. And then comes the daring plan that is supposed to get their relationship back on track – a foursome! To rekindle the fire, Sophie and Paul want to spend the night with another couple: the fiery Mia (Lucía Barrado) – a bundle of energy who knows no inhibitions – and the charming advertising psychologist Lukas (Friedrich Mücke).
Friedrich Mücke: Sex scenes with four people are much more fun
A little bit of adventure, a little bit of excitement, a little bit of the unpredictable – that could be the solution, right? But as is often the case, there are worlds between wishful thinking and reality.

The comedy by director Iván Sáinz-Pardo relies almost entirely on dialogue humor and physical comedy, and the premiere audience really liked it. And the actors also had fun while filming. Especially the foursome in bed – yes, there is a lot of fumbling! – obviously gave the actors the greatest joy.
Friedrich Mücke said on the premiere evening in Berlin: “Filming sex scenes with four people is a big challenge. Because two bodies sweat more.” And yet he thinks it’s much more fun with four people. “There’s more variety.” His unsuspecting mother sat in the rows in front of him. Mücke called out to her: “You haven’t seen that from me yet, but you have to go through it now.”
“The Foursome”, distributed by Leonine Studios, will be released in cinemas on November 28, 2024. ■
