With the Vienna Journalist Prize, the Young Journalist Prize and the Prize for Journalistic Innovation, the Media Women’s Network highlights outstanding achievements by female journalists. The award is under the patronage of Vice Mayor and Women’s City Councilor Kathrin Gaál.

“Whose story is heard, which perspectives do we experience and which realities of life are actually worth reporting on? Every day, decisions are made in editorial offices, for programs and articles that shape our view of the world. It makes a crucial difference who meets them and creates journalism – in very different forms and formats. That’s why it’s so important that we honor female journalists who make an enormously valuable contribution here with their commitment and standards,” emphasizes Vice Mayor and Women’s City Councilor Kathrin Gaál.
