The Lavelanet municipal cinema benefits from three arthouse labels: Heritage and Repertoire, Research and Discovery and Young Audiences. La Sauce du Casino, an association supporting and defending cinema since February 2025, played a major role in obtaining these labels. It actively participates in the dynamics of cinema, as a place of culture, exchange and discovery.
Two previews
On Sunday, November 17, the association and the municipal team are preparing to offer moviegoers an exceptional day that will delight all fans of the 7th art. Indeed, as part of the 9th edition of the European Cinema Arthouse Day, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., two previews will be broadcast: “Grand tour” by Miguel Gomes, prize for directing in Cannes, and “The Wall” by Philippe Van Leeuw.
After the first screening, the association, which never misses an opportunity to combine conviviality and cinematographic events, organizes a Spanish inn.
At 6 p.m., a film concert will close the day.
The musicians of the Pigments collective will provide musical accompaniment to the silent film “Au Bonheur des Dames” by Julien Duvivier, a film adaptation of the famous novel by Emile Zola. Pigments offers a musical coloring of silent films that have marked history. After several years of development, the collective is now made up of around ten musicians from the Occitanie region.
