Authorities of the Mexico City They arrested a couple of elderly people in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office for cloning credit cards and stealing identities so they could be used during the days of Buen Fin.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security of the CDMX (SSC-CDMX) reported that police from the agency with the support of personnel from the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ), completed a search warrant in a property located in the Zacahuitzco neighborhood, where they detained a 76-year-old man, a 74-year-old woman and another 40-year-old woman.

This group of people is possibly linked to identity theft, for the purpose of theft from banking institutions; They also seized doses of possible narcotics, bank cards, official identification, among other products.

According to police investigations, these people They were dedicated to cloning official documents, the same ones they used to activate credit cards and then put them up for sale.

He way of working was that once the apocryphal documents were created, the supposed executive of a banking institution sent them to the people involved, in order to begin impersonating the victim’s identity.

All the information was sent by email to one of the detainees, who took control of the entire process to obtain the credit cards and start purchasing various items that were kept at home, through the plastic bags.

At the property, they detained these people, in addition to seizing 70 doses of apparent cocaine, 13 cards issued by different banks, nine driver’s licenses, 17 official identifications, a passport, an identification from a federal security agency, two laptop computers, a scale and cash.

Also inside the property they found a refrigerator, a screen, 56 boxes of protein, two motorcycles, several new products, which, apparently, were purchased with bank plastics in the names of different people.

It is worth mentioning that, according to information obtained, it is known that the 76-year-old detainee has an entry into the Mexico City Penitentiary System in 2019 for the crime of Concealment by receiving, likewise, it has an investigation folder in 2018 for the crime of fraud.

Due to the above, the three people were informed of their constitutional rights and, together with what was secured, they were made available to the agent of the Public Ministry, who will define their legal situation and continue with the investigations of the case; while the property was sealed and under police guard to continue with the investigations.
