The president of USA, Joe Bidenand the vice president, Kamala Harrisappeared together this Monday for the first time in public since the elections to the White House from last Tuesday.
Biden and Harris went to Arlington National Cemetery, on the outskirts of Washingtonon the occasion of Veterans Day.
The first lady also attended the meeting, Jill Biden; the second knight, Doug Emhoffas well as the Secretaries of Defense and State, Lloyd Austin y Antony Blinkenrespectively.
«This is the last time I will be here in Arlington as commander in chief. “It has been the greatest honor of my life: to lead you, to serve you, to care for you, to defend you, just as you defended us, generation after generation.”Biden said.
It is the first time that Biden and Harris appear together in public since the Democratic vice president lost last Tuesday’s presidential election against former Republican president Donald Trump.
Biden had the intention of participating in those elections but in July he handed over the candidacy to Harris under pressure from poor polls, public opinion and party leaders. EFE (I)
