On the 13th, executives and employees of Chiwoo Dental Clinic’s Gwangju Sangmu branch (CEO Jin Se-sik) held an oral health lecture for the elderly at the senior welfare center in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, and provided oral health education and free oral checkups to about 50 seniors who visited the training center.

Jangseong-gun Senior Welfare Center operates various programs for seniors. In particular, this event raised expectations as it was the first training held at a medical institution. Chiu Dental Clinic also introduced, “We have prepared substantial education to improve the oral health of the elderly.”
Jin Se-sik, the representative director of Chiwoo Dental Clinic’s Gwangju Sangmu branch, gave a lecture on the topic of ‘Oral diseases that occur in old age and how to manage them.’ In particular, it explained periodontal disease, tooth loss, and dry mouth, which frequently occur in the elderly, and taught simple oral care methods that can be practiced in daily life.
Director Jin explained the correct way to brush teeth in an easy-to-understand manner using a tooth model. Afterwards, we received a positive response by providing free oral examinations and 1:1 customized consultations. We evaluated the oral condition of each elderly person and provided customized advice.
The Jangseong-gun Senior Welfare Center has a denture cleaning machine provided by the Jangseong-gun Public Health Center. Chiu Dental Clinic executives and staff provided detailed explanations to the elderly on how to care for their dentures in their daily lives, as well as how to machine clean them.

CEO Jin Se-sik said, “This was my first time visiting Jangseong, and I was surprised by the proactiveness of the seniors.” He added, “Chiu Dental Clinic will continue to carry out various activities to improve the health of local seniors in cooperation with the Jangseong-gun Senior Welfare Center.”
He continued, “Teeth are directly related to the quality of life, so regular checkups and care are necessary. He added, “Chiu Dental Clinic will continue to work with the local community and carry out various health promotion activities.”
