The duel with the third-placed team in the Regionalliga Nordost was expected to last two 60 minutes. Head coach Thomas Stamm used the meeting during the international break to give a total playing time of 22 players, including those who had been able to accumulate fewer playing minutes recently.
On pitch 3 of the AOK PLUS Walter Fritzsch Academy, where spectators were not allowed for organizational reasons, Aljaz Casar had the first chance of the game. His header in the 5th minute went just past the left post. Dynamo controlled the game from the start and rewarded themselves with the lead after a good quarter of an hour: David Kubatta headed a Tom Berger free kick from the left half of the area over the line to make it 1- 0 (18th). The next level brought a double blow. Host goalkeeper Lorenz Otto was able to keep out Casar’s header from a corner from the left, but Dmytro Bohdanov used the rebound to give the team a two-goal lead (20′).
When the rain started, the Thuringians got a bit more of the game after half an hour. Daniel Mesenhöler saved the score with two shots from close range (40th / 41st), a powerful shot from Phillip Aboagye from the second row hit the post (52nd).
After the break and the first personnel changes on both sides, a fair game was developed at first with few goal area views. However, one of them used the black and yellow to increase: After a cross from Stefan Kutschke, Robin Meißner pushed the ball over the line to make it 3-0 (77th). The goal now clearly gave Dynamo the upper hand again: Jonas Oehmichen danced past an opponent in the penalty area and coolly turned into the near corner (86th), Bohdanov made 5- 0 after a good pass from Oehmichen on the conversion (90th) .
Dynamo dropped the ball and the opponent ran, they continued to look for a way forward and after 106 minutes they completed half a dozen. Christoph Daferner used a cross from Jakob Lemmer with an impressive direct pass to make it 6-0. While everyone was waiting for the final whistle, the guests finally scored a consolation goal. After a counter-attack on the left in the 16′, Yesua Motango weaved his way through and hit the short corner with a sharp finish (120′). Right after that it was over.
