Kaloyan Pargov met with the President and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska –

/ world today news/ The Chairman of the BSP City Council in Sofia Kaloyan Pargov met with the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and Prime Minister Zelka Cvijanovic during the working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dodik is also the chairman of the ruling Republika Srpska Union of Independent Social Democrats. He is also known for the fact that he is a very close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting, opinions and assessments were exchanged on the state of the left-wing parties in Bulgaria and Republika Srpska, as well as on the possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the field of economy and energy and for the development of party relations.

Kaloyan Pargov informed about the goals of his tour. It is related to the idea of ​​Balkan cooperation between cities and capitals in which left-wing parties rule, as well as in connection with the forthcoming local elections in Bulgaria, which are vital for the BSP and the left in the country. Pargov accepted an invitation to participate in the Congress of the Union of Independent Social Democrats on April 25. He also reached an agreement on deepening cooperation at all levels between the two parties.

During his visit, Kaloyan Pargov also met with Petar Jokic, chairman of the Socialist Party of the Republika Srpska, which, together with the Union of Independent Social Democrats, governs the country in a coalition. Jokic is the minister of energy, industry and mining in the cabinet. Kaloyan Pargov and his Serbian colleague discussed the state of the two parties. The Serbian left asked the BSP through Kaloyan Pargov for support for membership in the Socialist International. Cooperation between the structures of the two parties at all levels was also discussed at the meeting. The leader of the capital’s socialists also extended an invitation to Jokic to visit Sofia, which he accepted. The two also commented on the state of the left in Europe, as well as the economic and social state of Republika Srpska at the moment. Jokic also talked about the measures and initiatives undertaken by the new government.
