In 2024, we will hold a special talk event to commemorate the establishment of the Tokyo University of Science Entrepreneurship Education Organization. The “entrepreneurship” that our university aims for is “a behavioral system (mindset and skills) that develops and cultivates new value and sets it up as a business for society.” The most important thing is to “think independently about what you want to do and then act.”
This time, we welcome Mr. Cheng Tao, the creator of “Watermelon Game” and an alumnus, who will tell us the story behind the development of a hit product, his experiences as a student, and his path to starting his own business. Additionally, we are planning a panel discussion, Q&A, and networking session with students.
Why not take this valuable opportunity to learn about “entrepreneurship” directly from Mr. Cheng and acquire the power to open up a new era?

Guest speaker Mr. Tei Tou
Born in 1982 in Henan, China. Graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology. Serial entrepreneur.
In 2008, while studying for a master’s degree in Creative Informatics at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, he developed a project based on the research results of the popIn interface, with the support of the University of Tokyo’s venture investment fund, the University of Tokyo Edge Capital (UTEC). Founded popIn, a venture from the University of Tokyo.
In 2015, we merged with Baidu, a major Chinese search engine. In 2017, we developed popIn Aladdin, the world’s first 3-in-1 projector with integrated lighting, and in December 2021, it became an unusual hit product with cumulative sales exceeding 250,000 units. . In December of the same year, the Nintendo Switch™ software “Suika Game” was released, and it has become a huge hit with over 10 million downloads.
In April 2021, issin Co., Ltd. was founded. In August 2022, he retired as the representative of popIn Co., Ltd. In April 2022, we released a weight scale “Smart Bath Mat” that blends into daily life, and to date, the number of users has exceeded 50,000. In September 2023, we started providing the lifestyle improvement service “Smart Daily.” In December 2023, we announced the exercise habit service “Smart 5min”.
