The average gross monthly salary V “Agriculture, forestry and fisheries” is BGN 1,654 in the third quarter in 2024, NSI announced. It is BGN 9 higher compared to the quarter from April to June 2024 and BGN 143 above the third quarter of 2023, when it was BGN 1,511.
On average for all observed activities, the monthly gross labor remuneration in the country for the third quarter is BGN 2,275.
The highest remuneration for the specified period traditionally goes to those working in “Creation and distribution of information and creative products; telecommunications” – BGN 5,127; “Financial and insurance activities” – BGN 3,260; “Production and distribution of electrical and thermal energy and gaseous fuels” – BGN 3,235.
After salaries in “Agriculture, forestry and fisheries”, the lowest are the remunerations in “Other activities” – BGN 1,569 and in “Hotel and restaurant industry” – BGN 1,495.
The NSI reports that the number of employed persons by the end of September 2024 decreased by 22.8 thousand, or by 1.0%, compared to the end of June 2024.

For comparison, at the end of September 2024, compared to the end of September 2023, the number of persons employed under labor and service legal relationships increased by 26.9 thousand, or by 1.2%. The largest increase in the number of employed persons within one year was observed in the economic activities “Human health care and social work” – by 12.8 thousand, “Hotel and restaurant industry” – by 8.8 thousand, and “Creation and distribution of information and creative products; telecommunications” – by 6.0 thousand, and the biggest decrease – in “Manufacturing industry” – by 11.8 thousand, and in “Agriculture, forestry and fisheries” – by 3.3 thousand. In percentage terms, the decrease in “Extractive industry” is 4.8%, and in “Agriculture, forestry and fisheries” – by 4.7%.
