Best atmosphere and valuable exchange at the autumn reception

LINZ. The Palais Linz was once again transformed into a dazzling stage and a place for networking at the traditional autumn reception of the Linz Commercial Association (KV). The association has been supporting and promoting values such as education, progress, freedom and economy since 1868.

This is supported by 750 members who take on a variety of social tasks. In order to promote and further expand this solidarity, KV President Andreas Zwettler, the two KV Vice Presidents Peter Gumpelmayer and Roland Meuer as well as Palais managing director Rafael Hintersteiner invited people to the traditional autumn reception in the magnificent Palais Linz.

“Able to solve problems on their own”

In his speech, Zwettler referred to topics such as social responsibility and economic resilience. Many problems are home-made. “But at the same time this is also good news. That means we can solve them on our own. Whatever the next federal government looks like or whoever our next mayor will be: you are called upon to make honest, credible policies so that trust and confidence regain the upper hand,” said Zwettler. “The current consumer strike cannot be explained other than that people simply lack confidence in the future. But we shouldn’t blame everything on politics. Everyone has to do their part.”

The tailwind of calmed inflation and interest rate cuts should be used; a positive attitude and a sense of proportion are needed in collective bargaining negotiations.

His appeal to all consumers: “We have to consider whether you really have to order from Chinese or American online mail order companies. Why not take a leisurely stroll through Linz city center and support local trade and gastronomy?”

There was also an appeal to the public sector: “Maintaining the palace is and remains a challenge. It must be in the city’s interest to preserve this building anniversary, this important meeting place.”

Remembering Trauner

Zwettler also used the beginning of his speech to speak together late Commercial Councilor Rudolf Trauner to commemorate. The former Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce President was himself a member of the Commercial Association, “he was a great bridge builder and connector. A warm-hearted person who served us as people and particularly supported young people.”

Location for events

The meeting of around 300 guests from art, culture, politics and business was accompanied by music by Hans Peter Gratz & friends.

In addition to numerous balls, there is also a musical calendar waiting in the palace, including a Schubertiade on November 16th, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s concerts, the 74th KV Ball, this year under the motto “Viva Las Vegas – Elvis turns 90” will take place on November 25th. January.
