Write on Monday B.A the story of Gøran Sund – who lost the last scarf of his prized trophy from 2004 at the Stadium, when Brann played against Lillestrøm.
The scarf was of great value to him because it originally belonged to his father. He died suddenly in a drowning accident more than ten years ago. The scarf was one of the most valuable things he left behind.
Sund said he lost his scarf just before half-time, just before Heggebø scored. Going into battle without him just didn’t feel the same.
– Means a lot
On Wednesday night, Sund published an update on the case in the Facebook group “Ballspark”. Then he announced that the scarf had been returned to him. To BA, he describes what happened:
– I received a message on Facebook, where another person wrote that he found the scarf. The man had seen an article about him either in the newspaper or on social media. He offered to bring it back to me. We met and had a little chat. Then I got the scarf back.
– How did you respond?
– No, of course I was very happy. It means a lot to me. When I walk with him at the Stadium, I feel that my father is there too. It’s a little hard to describe the feeling.
– Will we see you with the scarf at the next game?
– Of course. I have a partout card, and have watched every home game since April 2023. So the scarf must be included.
It should not lie on the ground
BA found the man who found the scarf. The everyday hero is named Thomas Bøe Sjo. He found the scarf while he was standing and having fun with friends.
– While we were standing there, I suddenly saw a fire extinguisher lying on the ground, and then I thought; we can’t have any of that.
– A fire extinguisher must not be lying on the ground.
So he picked it up and hung it around his neck.
– I also noticed that it was a really cool cup final scarf from 2004.
Then the fight started again, and Bøe Sjo says that he slightly forgot that he had the scarf.
– Then I read in the newspaper that someone had lost their scarf. Then I thought that must be what I found.
– Happy for him
He confirms that he contacted Sund through Facebook.
– I sent him a picture, and he turned out to be right.
– How did it feel to give it up?
– It felt really good. At least when I know what it meant to him. I was very happy for him.
– I myself have lost the final trophy since 2004, so I know how it feels, he said.
