The iPad Pro is Apple’s most popular tablet, despite the price

The iPad Pro is Apple’s most expensive tablet… and it’s also its best-selling model. This was already the case a few months ago and it is still relevant today.

Data from CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners) show that the iPad Pro represented 45% of Apple tablet sales during the third quarter (July-September) of 2024. This share, which is almost stable over one year, is the most important. This is quite notable when we know that the iPad Pro starts at 1,219 euros. We can even go up to 3,159 euros if we take the 13-inch model with 2 TB of storage, nano-textured glass and the Wi-Fi + 5G version.

We then find the standard iPad with a share of 33%. The tablet saw its market share increase by 10 points in one year. The third position is for the iPad Air with a share of 13%. Here, the tablet lost 11 points over a year. Finally, there is the iPad mini which was at 9% this time and 8% last year.

CIRP indicates:

The iPad Pro clearly pulls the results, with the largest share at the higher price. The iPad mini attracts specific-purpose customers. The base iPad and iPad Air meet the needs of others. A simple and pleasant story that allows Apple to continue to deliver its financial results.
