But the perpetrators couldn’t enjoy their millions in loot for long: a detailed video analysis showed the investigators that at least four perpetrators were involved in the theft. And their escape from Frankfurt Airport could apparently be traced: Through intensive investigations, the police managed to locate the four suspects, aged 63, 51, 49 and 43, in Mainz-Mombach on Sunday (November 10th).

The good news for the jewelry dealer who was stolen at Frankfurt Airport: When they searched the suspects’ vehicle, the officers discovered the hidden jewelry that had already been packaged ready for shipment. According to the current status of the police investigation, the entire stolen loot – including hundreds of pieces of jewelry, some worth up to 32,000 euros – was in the car. The pickpockets were arrested and taken to the detention cells at police headquarters to be brought before a judge. (fd)
