Queen Camilla, 77, fell ill at the beginning of November with bronchitis. The Queen was said to be on sick leave for the time being.
Now Camilla has returned to representative duties. On Tuesday, November 12, the Queen represented the Booker Prize literary gala at the announcement of the finalists. Camilla said at the event that she was one of the finalists’ selectors despite having bronchitis.
Director of the Booker Prize Society Gaby Wood asked the queen how she was doing.
– I am in much better shape. I still have a bit of a cough, but I really wanted to come here, Queen Camilla replied.
According to the Express news website, Queen Camilla coughed numerous times at the book event. The Queen was supposed to host the entire finalist announcement event, but due to illness, she only met the finalists for 15 minutes.
The Queen has been resting a lot in recent days, especially because Thursday marks the 76th birthday of her husband, King Charles. Queen Camilla had to miss the Field of Remembrance event in London’s Westminster Abbey at the weekend, which honored those who lost their lives in the armed forces.
