Dresden. The health department of the state capital Dresden received 176 laboratory-confirmed corona cases reported by doctors last week. This means that 888 corona infections have been registered since the count began at the beginning of October. The seven-day incidence is 28.1 and has fallen slightly compared to the previous week (30.7). The number of unreported cases is significantly higher because the circulating coronaviruses usually cause mild symptoms that are similar to a normal cold.

However, 34 people in Dresden were admitted to hospital last week because of a corona infection or tested positive when admitted to a clinic because of another health problem. According to the Germany-wide DIVI register, there are 25 corona patients in intensive care units in Saxony, seven of whom are receiving invasive ventilation. According to the health department, seven people in Dresden died of or with Corona in October. No further deaths were recorded in the first days of November.
Influenza does not yet play a role in the infection process; the flu wave usually only begins in the first few months of a new year. Three people tested positive for the flu virus last week, and 19 people were or have been sick with the flu since the beginning of October, according to the health department.
