“Nothing can happen without PP-DB”. GERB meetings with BSP and ITN ended without results

The meetings of the first political force in the 51st National Assembly, GERB, with the parliamentary groups of “BSP-United Left” and “There are such people” ended without results in the negotiations to form a government.

After the meeting with GERB, Atanas Zafirov from “BSP-United Left” said that she “the beginning of the conversation on a necessary conversation that meets society’s expectations that the forces of parliament hold a conversation.”

According to him, it was not a meeting on the negotiation process to create a government, but on topics of national concern that relate to society.

“Today’s discussion was about policies, because we have had many differences with GERD over the years. “Budget 2025″ and the risks regarding the financial instability of the state was one of the most important things of the conversation”, said Zafirov.

“BSP-United Left” wants the state’s social guarantees to be protected in the budget, as well as energy and economic security.

“We started dialogue with the condition that this is a process so the door is open for negotiations,” said Atanas Zafirov.

GERB and BSP have nevertheless united in one thing – to postpone the exit to the liberalized electricity market by one year.

After the meeting of GERB and ITN Toshko Yordanov said that nothing is agreed upon. “The conversation was 90% of the time about the way out of the state of the country. The finances are in a bad state thanks to the budget, including the one that GERB accepted,” he said. In his words, unregulated lending must stop.

“We were surprised that the conversation was with us and not with the second political force. Because we can talk about all kinds of things if there is no majority. This conversation – how should I say – was the first step on their side”, said Toshko Yordanov.

According to him, nothing could happen in this parliament if GERB did not have an understanding with PP-DB.

“If there is a government, it will not be from the GERB, but from many parties. Today you will see how we do not re-elect the Speaker of the National AssemblyYordanov added.

He showed the PP-DB declaration, personally signed by the head of ITN Slavi Trifonov. Yordanov said that the actions in the hall, however, were different from the requests.
