The 7-a-side football competition created by Piqué also lands in Italy and is ready to overwhelm the fans with its rules: how the matches work.
The Kings League Of Gerard Piqué also lands in Italy: after the great popularity garnered in Spain and South America, the tournament created by the former Barcelona defender is preparing to conquer our country too with its very particular rules and the spectacle it offers in every match. It’s about a 7-a-side football competition created in 2022 and comprising 12 teams led by streamers and content creators. The appointment is for November 18th at 8.45pm with an event that will be broadcast on the competition’s official channels.
It’s not just about football, because everything is completely different from the sport we are used to seeing: it is a tournament that combines sport, entertainment and big names like Ronaldinho, Pirlo and Shevchenko and also Francesco Totti who recently participated in the edition held in Mexico.
The rules of the Kings League
Fueling the show is the extravagant regulation that makes 7-a-side football matches real shows. Each match has two halves of 20 minutes eachmade up of key moments that change the rules of the game from time to time: at 00′ the ball falls from a cage above the center circle and the players will have to compete for it starting from the back line. Until the 5th minute there will be a one-on-one match between the goalkeepers only and every minute a player will be added gradually until the two teams are completed and the substitutions are also made.
Diego Forlan from football to tennis: he will play with Coria in the doubles tournament in a challenger
At minute 18 there is the first twist, because a die will be rolled which will establish the number of players who must be present on the pitch (1 vs 1, 3 vs 3 and so on) and will last until the end of the first half. From 20′ to 38′, however, the game will be played normally until reaching the last two minutes of the match which will be crucial: in that circumstance goals will be worth double only if the two teams are not tied. In fact, in case of a draw we move on to the golden goal, that is, whoever scores first wins. In case of a draw in the 40th minute instead we will move on to penalty kicks which will decide the winner.
Secret papers and sanctions
To add further spice to the challenge before the match begins the coaches will choose a secret card to use randomly before the 38th minute. The possibilities are many: double goals, temporary expulsion of one of the opponents, a penalty awarded out of nowhere or even the invalidation of the other team’s bonus. There is also the particular card of severity of the president which can be requested between 5′ and 18 and between 20′ and 38′. Warnings also have their own particular rules. There is a yellow card that is, a two-minute expulsion, and also the classic redbut after 5 minutes the player can be replaced.
