One month after the municipal elections, the Arlon2030 group revealed the names of its future aldermen and its alderwoman. According to the majority pact signed with the MR-MC group, “Arlon2030 will have 4 aldermen for the first three years. A fifth alderman from Arlon2030 will join the college to replace an MR-MC alderman for the last three years of the mandate”.
An alderman or rather an alderwoman since the shared mandate will be that of Patty Schmit (MR-MC), who will leave her mandate to the Engagés Arlonais to take over the presidency of the CPAS during the legislature. However, the Arlon2030 group is not giving the name of the future alderwoman at this stage. In three years, the composition of the council and the College can still evolve.
At this stage, here are the Arlon2030 aldermen, accompanied by their skills:
- Vincent Magnus (Mayor) : Security (rescue and police zone), communication, budget and finances, international relations, culture, commerce, and general responsibility for municipal management.
- Didier Laforge (2nd alderman) : Sports and sports infrastructures, festivities and events, tourism, tourist and Gallo-Roman heritage, worship and secular action, as well as the management of the buildings concerned.
- Anne Lamesch (4th mayoress) : Civil status, population, foreigners service, environment and cleanliness, ecological transition, small recreational and sports infrastructures, energy and energy window, rural renovation (PCDR), citizen participation, agriculture and forestry.
- Marc Kerger (7th mayor) : Public works, roads, buildings, mobility, heritage, public health, international solidarity, fair trade, and integration of people with disabilities.
“Respecting the will of the voters, the Arlon2030 committee designated as aldermen the four candidates having received the most votes among the 14 elected municipal councilors. Anne-Catherine Goffinet, due to her mandate as regional deputy, will not be able to combine this role with that of alderwoman and will therefore not join the college”.
Arlon2030 also presents its other representatives
The other municipal councilors elected for Arlon2030 are: Matthieu Sainlez, Pierre-Philippe Balon, Kamal Mitri, Virginie Back, Anne-Catherine Goffinet, Henri Bosseler, Benjamin Sigard, Raphaël Filipucci, Paul Kiame, and Raphaël Gigi. Among them, Matthieu Sainlez, Henri Bosseler, Virginie Back, Benjamin Sigard and Raphael Filipucci will also sit on the police council, ensuring coherent and united management of security for our fellow citizens.
“Our social commitment, the pillar of our action, is also reflected in the presence of five representatives of Arlon2030 within the CPAS. Marie-Christine Antoine, Bénédicte Istace, Catherine Gielen, Franck Prieur and Frédéric Bach will work there to strengthen solidarity and social action in our territory.
Finally, Matthieu Sainlez will continue to chair the Maison de la Culture, and Pierre-Philippe Balon will remain president of the Maison des Jeunes, two key institutions for cultural influence and youth engagement in Arlon.
