Audi has announced a new model of the A3 family, which will be able to drive up to 140 kilometers electrically thanks to PHEV hybrid technology.
The addition to the A3 family is styled like a fake SUV – with side and wheel arch inserts and 15mm higher suspension, which together with 17-inch wheels makes it 30mm higher than the standard model.
The car is powered by a PHEV plug-in hybrid unit that combines a 1.5 TFSI evo2 turbo petrol engine with 150 hp (250 Nm) and an 85 kW (330 Nm) electric motor. Thanks to the total power of the system (204 hp; 350 Nm) all street can reach a maximum speed of 225 km / ha and sprint to a hundred in 7.4 seconds.
Technical data shows that the 25.7 kWh battery provides up to 140 km in electric mode with a maximum speed of 140 km / h. You can charge the battery with 11 kW, which takes 2.5 hours for a full charge, or with fast charging up to 50 kW, taking less than half an hour to charge from 10 to 80 percent.
Audi, which promises “an excellent balance between driving comfort and dynamics”, reports that orders for the A3 allstreet 40 TFSI will start this month, with prices of start at €46,000.
