“Today, 12 November 2024, the Sritex cassation file was declared complete and sent to the Registrar of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta by the Semarang District Court,” said Wawan, his intimate nickname, when he welcomed the registrant. He explained that the processing speed of Sritex must be a priority because it concerns the survival of more than 50,000 thousand workers and other supporting industries. The company has high hopes for the Supreme Court as the ultimate foundation of justice so that they can give decisions that are fair and provide the widest benefits.
“I want the Supreme Court to pay special attention to dealing with our problem. We are running against time,” he said.
Wawan said a quick decision by the company was needed so that Sritex’s business continuity would be maintained and employees could continue to work. “Support from different parties is an encouragement for us to get through this difficult time,” he said.
At the same time, Yeka Hendra Fatika, as a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman, said that his visit to Sritex included asking to investigate whether there were public service problems behind the problems that Sritex had.
“It turns out after an investigation that there are many public service problems that could lead to bad administration if the Sritex problem is not solved,” said Yeka.
According to him, Ombudsman it has a role in recommending management improvements that may lead to maladministration. As for Sritex, he explained that the problem was related to the company’s debt, which was much greater than the debt owed to one person. supplier which reached about 100 billion IDR.
“The portion is very small, just 0.5 percent of Sritex’s total debt. all in all debt “More than IDR 20 trillion, it is very strange that just a debt of IDR 100 billion can bankrupt the whole company,” he said.
Yeka stressed that this regulation should not be used by individuals who intend to take advantage.
“In this context, there is potential for abuse by the chief curator or judge who may seek personal gain. With a tax of up to 10 percent of the debt value, they can get up to IDR 2 trillion from a total debt of IDR 20 trillion,” he said.
In addition to focusing on the Sritex case, the Ombudsman is also gathering information about the reasons for the decline in the textile industry in Indonesia, especially the increase in imported products which will adversely affect the home business.
