The Government and emergency authorities were present in the area
With the disaster, the governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, traveled to the region to personally assess the situation and meet with more than 100 affected families and announced the immediate support of the Government and Department of Risk Management of Antioquia (Dagran) to help victims.
However, the fear remains in San José de Mulato and other towns in Urabá Antioquia, as this activity could be a sign of a wider tectonic instability in the region.
The safety of residents is now a priority, and technicians and geologists have begun studies to determine the extent of the phenomenon and explain whether it is necessary to implement definitive evacuations.
While investigations continue, the government’s commitment to the affected area stands out at a time of uncertainty in the sector.
